As most of you have guessed, GST has changed its policy concerning unpaid GMs. Since Yahoo changed its process for renewing leagues several years ago, it has made it very difficult to know who is serious and who is not. This has created a huge financial loss for GST. While teams entering leagues without being serious about paying or lying about their intentions -- it has been the GST Regulars who disappear without deleting their teams or corresponding that has been the primary money loss.
While GST will continue to try to replace all unpaid or teams that are not being played, even often at a financial loss, GST will no longer guarantee the Entry Fees of unpaid teams. Instead the new GST policy will be unpaid teams will not be renewed the following years automatically, especially without serious correspondence.
GST will continue its tradition of allowing leagues to be paid with future earnings (despite the administrative work involved), beware -- without sufficient loyalty points having been accumulated and correspondence, those GMs are waling a fine line and the above policy can be invoked without warning.

Harry: There is a simple solution to your unpaid teams - DON'T LET THEM DRAFT! No other cash league allows teams to draft when the have not paid. You need to get over your hang up of needing to have 20 teams. If only 16 teams paid - the you have 16 quality teams. But, if you chose to allow a unpaid team to draft, the commissioner should be responsible for their dues if the don't paid. And they should be whining about losing money when it is their own fault for letting an unpaid team draft.
