Has everybody participated in Baseball Reference's Elorater, where they rank all the Best Players against each other? If not, go to www.baseballreference.comsearch any (really good) baseball player. Above the stats you will see his ranking and there will be a place to "Vote" From there you can click on the All Time standings to see where your favorite All-Time player ranks. If you haven't, and ever have a few minutes -- give it a try! They only compete with the top players ever. If you bother to click on any players stats you don't recognize -- you will learn considerable baseball history. Beware that pre-1900 players have higher War Factors due to the small amount of, (and variances between), players and teams, especially the pitchers because of the high amount of Unearned Runs, which are not included in Wars calibrations. Relief pitchers and catchers also have lower Wars due to lesser IP and ABs. Use you own judgement. They also include some stats of pre-MLB players. It's amazing the RESEARCH compiled by Baseball Reference!! Where does your favorite player rate? What do you think of that rating?
