Al Spalding has a career winning percentage of .787, making him baseball's winningest pitcher ever. The problem is he only pitched for 1 season in the major leagues. Was he injured? No--he was more interested in the baseball itself than playing baseball--so he quit and started making baseballs.
Maybe you've heard of them?
Enshrined in the Hall of Fame in 1939!
